Headteacher's update 13

Published on 24/04/20

Good afternoon everyone,

I hope you and your families are all well. Thank you for continuing to check Weduc for the work being set for your children by their teachers.

Learning Resources

This week two new government-backed resources have been launched to support students with remote learning - these are the Oak National Academy (https://www.thenational.academy/online-classroom) and BBC Bitesize Daily Lessons (https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/dailylessons).

Your child’s teachers may use these resources when setting work, and will let you know using the home learning function in Weduc.

Additionally, you may find these resources interesting if your child wants to learn independently and also if you have younger children at home.

Free School Meal Vouchers

Parents/carers of children who receive free school meal vouchers will probably be aware that from next week vouchers will be processed on a fortnightly basis. This will reduce the number of times that you will need to log in to redeem your vouchers and should save time. We understand that setting up the voucher system has been confusing and complicated for some. I hope you have found colleagues from our team helpful in supporting you to access the vouchers to which you are entitled.

Thank you again for your continued support.

Take care,

Joe Birkbeck
Head of Westfield School
