Good afternoon,

I hope that you and your families are well. With a week to go until our half-term break there’s lots going on at Westfield to keep you informed about.

YEAR 11 MOCK EXAMS
Most Year 11 students have now completed their final mock exams, as attention now turns to preparation for final exams in May and June. Our students have conducted themselves brilliantly in the exams and I know they are desperate to get back their grades to find out how much they’ve progressed since the previous mocks. Our next Year 11 parents’ evening is on Thursday 10th March.

COVID VACCINATIONS

A reminder that our colleagues from the NHS vaccinations team will be in school again on Tuesday of next week to administer vaccinations to any eligible student whose parents/carers have consented for them to be vaccinated. Students in Year 8 will be offered the HPV vaccination as well as COVID vaccination. Thank you to those families who have returned their consent forms already – if you would like your child to be vaccinated but have not yet returned the form, please do so on Monday.

GOOD LUCK, REBECCA!

Everyone at Westfield would like to wish our Year 10 student Rebecca luck in her bid to become the Youth Parliament representative for South East Sheffield. Rebecca gave an impressive presentation to senior staff this week and will be sharing her manifesto pledges with students in form time throughout next week. Our students will have the opportunity to cast their votes at the end of next week.

FUTSAL FINAL/FOOTBALL SEMI-FINAL

Congratulations to our Year 7 boys football team who have reached the final of a ‘Futsal’ competition that will take place next week. We wish the team lots of luck and here’s hoping they bring the trophy back to Westfield.

And good luck to the Year 11 boys football team who will compete against Silverdale School in the semi-final of the Clegg Shield on Wednesday afternoon. The ‘Chorus Education Trust’ derby will no-doubt be a hard-fought affair, but we’re confident our excellent Year 11 team will prevail.

YEAR 10 PARENTS EVENING

Parents/carers of students in Year 10 will soon receive details of how to make appointments for the Year 10 parents evening on Thursday 24th February. This will be an online parents’ evening and will focus in particular on how our Year 10 students performed in recent mock exams.

With many thanks for your continued excellent support and have a great weekend.
