PSHE

Our Curriculum Intent:

Our humanities faculty share our school's commitment to implementing a curriculum that:

  • Is ambitious for every student
  • Develops students' social and cultural capital
  • Supports ambitious next steps

To ensure this happens through the PSHE curriculum our aim is for:

  • Students to develop life skills that will underpin the progress they make throughout their lives
  • Students to be prepared for challenges they are yet to encounter
  • Students to be supported to make sense of the world they live in now

More information about the content and sequencing of our PSHE curriculum can be found via the link below to our Learning Journey and via the links to the left.

In previous years PSHE has made excellent use of outside speakers and visitors to enhance and develop students understanding of some of the key topics studied. Examples of these include the local police to deliver information relating to drugs and crime, volunteers from the University of Sheffield to deliver elements of sexual health education and visits from ‘City of Sanctuary’ to highlight the problems faced by asylum seekers.
