Years 7-9 PSHE

During their lessons in Key Stage 3 pupils at Westfield will study a wide range of topics.

In Year 7 they explore the importance of Parliamentary Democracy and the nature of different political system.  They then move onto the Changes Unit, a topic in which they can explore the changing nature of their lives.  Other topics studied include Healthy Lifestyles and Careers.

Year 8 students initially study Human Rights, this then leads onto our unit on Crime and Punishment. Students will then learn about the risks connected to illegal drugs, alcohol and tobacco, before finishing the year investigating possible future career options.

Our Year 9 students enjoy an equally diverse curriculum, focusing in on Careers, SRE, Homophobia and Online Safety.  Issues around bullying are taught to all year groups.
